Dennis Dunn
Though Dennis Dunn is best known for his book BAREBOW! – An Archer’s Fair-Chase Taking of North America’s Big-Game 29, he also is an outspoken advocate of hunters’ rights. He shared his views with SEOPA conference attendees in Punta Gorda, Fla., this fall.
Dunn thinks of his book as more than a journal. To him it’s a mission – a project meant to educate non-hunters (not anti-hunters, but rather those who simply don’t hunt) about the heritage and purpose of hunting. Dunn thinks it’s important for non-hunters to understand that the basic, primal instinct to hunt stems from a simple need for food, and that we have every right to feed ourselves through these means.
Dunn and his wife Karen live in Kirkland, Wash., with their beloved dog Puccini.
